Welcome to Lumentor. By creating an account, you accept these terms. They are written simply; if anything is unclear, write to us at [email protected].
1. The service
Lumentor is an app for learning to speak English with a mentor: live conversations with Daniel or Sara, lessons, exercises and reviews. Lumentor is published by Goddora (company registration in progress, Cameroon).
2. Your mentor is an artificial intelligence
Daniel and Sara are AI mentors, not people. They are designed to be helpful and accurate, but an AI can make mistakes: mishear a word, get a correction or an explanation wrong. Lessons are checked by a second AI and by our team, but mistakes remain possible. If you notice one, tell us: that's how Lumentor gets better.
Lumentor helps you improve, but does not guarantee a result (a level, passing an exam or an interview). Lumentor is not a certification body.
3. Who can use Lumentor
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- An account is personal: don't share it. You sign in with a code sent to your email address; keep access to that address to yourself.
4. Test phase (beta)
Lumentor is in its test phase. During this phase:
- the service is free and may have limits (for example one live conversation a day);
- features may change, stop or be added, and the service may be temporarily unavailable;
- we may ask for your feedback; answering is always optional.
Paid plans may exist later. They will be presented clearly, with their price, before any payment: you will never be charged without your explicit agreement.
5. Respectful use
You agree not to:
- use Lumentor to say or obtain illegal, hateful, violent or sexual content;
- harass or insult anyone, including your mentor;
- try to get around limits, disrupt the service, access other people's accounts or automate the use of the app;
- copy, resell or reuse Lumentor's lessons and content outside your personal learning.
In case of a serious breach, we may suspend or close the account concerned.
6. Your content and ours
- What you say belongs to you. You allow us to process it only to provide and improve the service, as described in the privacy policy.
- The lessons, the mentors (their names, voices and personalities), the Lumentor brand and the app belong to Goddora.
7. Your data
How we handle your data is described in the app privacy policy. You can delete your account at any time from the app.
8. Stopping Lumentor
You can stop whenever you want and delete your account in the app. On our side, if we decided to stop the service, we would tell you in advance by email or in the app.
9. Liability
During the test phase, Lumentor is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, Goddora is not liable for indirect damage related to the use of the service, in particular a decision based on a wrong correction or explanation. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law guarantees you.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Cameroon. In case of disagreement, we will first look for an amicable solution; failing that, the competent courts of Cameroon may be seized.
11. Changes
If we change these terms, the date and version at the top of this page change. If the change is significant, the app will ask you to accept them again.
